General notes

From Ecuador and northern Peru, where it grows epiphytically at 2600 meters. One of a number of tank-type tillandsias from Peru, although smaller than a lot of them, which adapt readily to pot culture. It grows faster and larger in a pot, with an acidic, well-drained compost. Whilst the plant is hardy and flowers in the shade-house, we have found that its flowers develop much better in the growing-on house.
