Tillandsia plants
There is a minimum order of 5 plants, and in an effort to simplify pricing, we have included the freight cost in the price of the plant. This assumes an order quantity of 30/40 plants, and delivery by International Air Post. For larger orders, you should get a specific quotation from us because we may be able to get a better freight rate using Airfreight . Freight costs on small parcels of tillandsias are high because postal services charge us on the volume of the parcel, which is much more costly than the actual weight charge would be. On the other hand, Airfreight charges by weight but has higher minimum costs! Once you get to 30/40 plants airfreight can come more economical and we can reduce the cost of your plants.
Documentation: The movement of living plants between countries is controlled by Government Agencies, usually "Biosecurity" departments. For most countries there are few problems with tillandsia shipments, provided we can provide the necessary health certificate with your shipment. In a few countries you may need to apply for an import permit before we ship the plants - if you are importing for the first time, we recommend you contact our export documentation section, from here. We can advise you whether you need to take any action, and whether your government requires a health certificate (see paragraph below).
IMPORTANT UPDATE APRIL 2005. In February this year the New Zealand Government agency issuing us with export health certificates, Agriquality Limited, increased their charges for a typical 15-30 minute inspection from $40 to $487, and for a double inspection where plants need to be dipped in insecticide prior to shipment, from $200 to $896.50. To date, the New Zealand Government has failed to respond to our request for a review of their policies. This effectively ends our ability to supply plants to some countries who require a government-certified health certificate with imports, at least until an economic solution can be found.

"Export smalls"
Because air delivery charges depend on the size of a plant, not its weight, larger plants carry a large delivery cost - often more than the cost of the plant itself. Some people prefer smaller plants to reduce the delivery cost, therefore we have included some smaller grade seedlings. These will be have attained their adult form but be much smaller than mature plants. Their size, and photo, will usually be shown on the photo page for their species.
