Many people have at least one hoya growing in their home—Hoya carnosa or the “Wax plant” is in fact a native of China but grows easily in a well-aerated lounges in New Zealand. The wonderfully fragrant flowers make this a popular pot plant.

There are a large variety of hoyas grown by members of our Society. They vary from cool climate varieties which will grow on a porch or in a shadehouse, to tropical plants which need a heated greenhouse.
