Tillandsia diaguitensis

# AB694

General notes

A hardy tillandsia, from Northern Argentina and Paraguay, it grows lower down than most of the grey-leafed tillandsias from these regions. It has very large, perfumed white flowers. We have found that it likes good light, but needs a lot of moisture in the air. High humidity is also needed to support flowering. Occurs naturally on rocks.

Plants form long, stiff stems.  In Jujuy, Argentina, Tillandsia diaguitensis grows with T. muhrae and T. yuncharensis . (Walter Till, 1990)
