The book is bi-lingual, with the entire text in both the Deutsche and English languages. Published by the German Bromeliad Society in 1996, and written by Mrs Renate Ehlers. The author is a recognised authority on tillandsias, and is totally familiar with their native habitats. She has  published many new species of tillandsia.

Species  included in the group collectively know as the red-flowered tillandfsias from Brazil are  Tillandsias paraensis, globosa, geminiflora, gardneri, chapeúensis, grazielae, reclinata, sucrei, brachyphylla, heubergeri, thiekenii, sprengeliana, kautskyi, organensis, and roseiflora. Each species is described, illustrated, and has notes on its distribution and habitats.

A botanical key to aid in identifying all the species and varieties in the complex is included in the book. The book has 66pages, 29 colored photos and 23 black & white drawings.  Highly recommended !
